Welcome to VIFFA!

Welcome to the Vancouver Island Firefighters Association (VIFFA), formed in 1931 and representing Vancouver Island and area fire departments and members.  VIFFA promotes cross-department training, friendship, and community spirit in the Vancouver Island fire service.

We have two general meetings/training weekends a year, one in April and the second in November.  We try to move these training weekends around the island to different departments, so please let us know if you’d be interested in hosting a training weekend.  We also encourage the support of Trade Representatives and try to provide them with opportunities to network or advertise.  At our meetings we discuss matters and concerns which are related to the interests of VIFFA and its members.

A newsletter is usually sent at least twice a year.  It contains information about upcoming events (training, etc.), as well as other items related to VIFFA members.  For example do you have any retiring firefighters that you want to recognize?  Do you have some firefighting equipment you wish to sell?

The VIFFA Executive consists of seven board members including a  President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three Directors. For a membership application, please Contact Us.
